Experience
John Tepedino focuses his practice on bankruptcy litigation, including as an important part of Windels Marx’s team representing the SIPA Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities. In this capacity, he has led dozens of adversary proceedings resulting in the recovery of millions of dollars for the victims of Madoff’s fraud, including through numerous mediations and negotiated settlements. John has also handled a variety of matters in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcies, more broadly, including general estate administration, debtor asset sales, and the prosecution and resolution of avoidance actions, and litigated complex non-bankruptcy commercial disputes to favorable outcomes.
Prior to joining Windels Marx, John was an associate in the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, where he focused on U.S. and cross-border corporate investigations and securities litigation. John also previously worked as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives and managed the successful re-election campaign of a Member of Congress from New York.
