Experience
Elizabeth G. O’Brien represents a range of business entities and individuals, including real estate operators and developers, equity investors, financial institutions and not-for-profit corporations in connection with real estate joint ventures, senior and mezzanine financings, the acquisition and sale of equity in entities, business formations, corporate restructurings and corporate governance. She is involved in the negotiation and drafting of a variety of transactional documents.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. O'Brien was a document review attorney. In addition, while in law school she worked at the Rutgers Community & Transactional Lawyering Clinic where she represented clients on matters pertaining to nonprofit entity formation and related corporate activities; property taxes; and adult guardianship.
Representative Matters of Note
- Represented SCALE Lending in a $170 million construction loan to Terra for phase one of the Upland Park project in West Miami-Dade County (Florida). The loan will be utilized for construction of 578 multifamily apartments with a 2025 start date. Upland Park is envisioned as a $1 billion mixed-use community, and is being billed as the largest public-private transit-oriented development in the area’s history.
