Experience
From concept to completion, clients rely on Andrea for her pragmatic business approach and more than three decades of experience representing a wide variety of clients in all areas of project development. She provides legal counsel to developers, owners, general contractors and other clients in real estate and construction, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, construction agreements, risk management and dispute resolution.
Prior to Windels Marx, Andrea was a Partner at a prominent New York construction and real estate law firm. Prior to that, she served for nearly a decade as the Deputy CEO and General Counsel of an international real estate investment and development company. In that role, she advised executive management and the board of directors on a range of real estate and construction matters relating to its extensive portfolio of residential and commercial real estate. Andrea oversaw all legal aspects of ground-up development projects, with an emphasis on acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing, property management, construction and related agreements, risk management and mitigation, and litigation and dispute resolution. Andrea was instrumental in the acquisition and development of various real estate projects throughout New York City, Harlem and Jersey City, and is particularly proud of her legal contributions to The Maverick – two twenty-story luxury condominium/rental towers with retail and amenity space on West 28th Street in Manhattan. Andrea has also served as Partner at several prestigious New York law firms, where she provided strategic advice and support to clients on a multitude of real estate and construction transactions and disputes.
Thought Leadership
Andrea has contributed to several legal treatises and authored many articles concerning real estate in New York and is a frequent speaker at construction industry events. While in law school, she served as the Research Editor for the New York Law Review/International Law Journal.
