Experience

Dr. Leah Kuhn is a Scientific Advisor and Patent Agent (Non-Legal) in the firm’s Hatch-Waxman Group, and specializes in assisting attorneys with scientific issues concerning validity, infringement, and patentability in the areas of pharmaceutical science and chemistry. She is also involved in opinion work and review of discovery documents during patent litigation.

Prior to joining Windels Marx, Dr. Kuhn was a recipient of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program where she conducted graduate research at Florida State University. Her doctoral research focused on studying the roles of stereoelectronic effects in organic reactions, with a focus on the stereoelectronic effects of oxygen. She has extensive research experience in organic/inorganic synthesis, polymers, photochemistry, and biochemistry. She has also co-authored several scientific articles, as well as a textbook, and has presented her work at a variety of scientific conferences.
