Experience

Amanda Meehan’s practice focuses on commercial, real estate, insurance, and employment litigation. She handles all phases of litigation, from case inception through paper and electronic discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial or other disposition, and appeals. In addition, she has experience in regulatory and transactional matters. She is skilled in interpreting and applying laws and regulations to confirm compliance and minimize legal risks. Amanda listens to clients’ goals and crafts strategies to achieve the most favorable results possible.

Prior to joining the firm, Amanda served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Alberto Rivas, A.J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County (2018-2019). During law school, she was an Associate Editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal, and she was selected to participate in the Immigrants’ Rights/International Human Rights Clinic.

Amanda is a volunteer coach for the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s annual high school mock trial competition, where she mentors students on legal concepts and trial strategy. On assignment from New Jersey courts, she has defended multiple pro bono clients facing disorderly persons contempt charges or parole revocation. She also volunteers with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, including its Women Fighting Hunger initiative.

Representative Matters

  • Assisted in securing an appellate victory for a New Jersey hospital in a lawsuit alleging employment discrimination under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, among other claims.
  • Represent lenders and mortgage servicers in commercial and residential foreclosure actions.
  • Defend insurers in coverage disputes and defend insurance producers against professional malpractice claims.
  • Represent businesses in breach of contract, business tort, Uniform Commercial Code, and other matters.
  • Represent clients in employment litigation and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigations.
  • Represent clients in landlord-tenant disputes involving unpaid rent and other issues.
  • Assist in advising a municipal joint insurance fund on litigation management, coverage determinations, and compliance with the Open Public Records Act, Open Public Meetings Act, and other laws.
  • Conducted due diligence in commercial real estate transactions involving the purchase of parking garages.
  • Conducted due diligence and assisted in the regulatory review process for a proposed merger between a nonprofit healthcare system and a comprehensive healthcare system in New Jersey.
