Matt Daus (Partner, New York) and Windels Marx authored a report entitled "Proposed Model Regulations for Smartphone Applications in the For-Hire Industry" in preparation for an interactive international forum and public hearing on November 16th. The hearing is part of the International Association of Transportation Regulators' (IATR) 25th Anniversary Conference in Washington, DC.

The report proposes model regulations to "ensure there is a level playing field between taxicab and luxury sedan/limousine sectors and that each sector can operate with technology companies that do not pose a threat to the licensed transportation providers or to consumer confidence in the for-hire industry".

Matt, IATR President, also penned a July 2012 report entitled "Rogue" Smartphone Applications for Taxicabs and Limousines: Innovation or Unfair Competition? - A National Regulatory Review of Safety, Accountability and Consumer Protection Legal Issues.
