Experience

Maryann Kicenuik has extensive experience in healthcare law, having represented hospitals, nursing homes, accountable care organizations, ambulatory care facilities, and physician multi-specialty groups in connection with:

  • contract matters,
  • joint ventures,
  • affiliations,
  • mergers and acquisitions,
  • fraud and abuse,
  • tax counseling,
  • certificates of need,
  • employment litigation and counselling,
  • internal investigations,
  • clinical trial agreements,
  • corporate formation/restructurings,
  • licensing, and
  • other state regulatory issues.

From 2014 to 2023, Ms. Kicenuik served as Senior Vice President & General Counsel for Holy Name Medical Center, Inc. (Teaneck, NJ), and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and affiliated medical practices. She returned to private practice with Windels Marx in October 2023, where she previously practiced as Partner between 2005 and 2014. Ms. Kicenuik began her legal career in 1982 at Riker Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti, LLP, where she was a Partner.  

Ms. Kicenuik has served since 2012 as a Trustee and Board Chair of St. Joseph’s School for the Blind (Jersey City, NJ), which is the sole remaining private not-for-profit school for blind and multiply handicapped children in New Jersey.
