Matt Daus, Windels Marx Transportation Group Will Counsel First Taxi "Peer Review" City

On June 8, 2012 the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR) issued a press release announcing that Thunder Bay, Ontario is the first city to choose a peer review process for reviewing taxi and limousine bylaws. The process, announced by the IATR as a new member service in 2011, "will give Thunder Bay access to the knowledge and experience of cities around the world when considering new bylaw provisions".

IATR President and Windels Marx Partner Matt Daus is quoted in the release as saying:

  • "We are thrilled to have the City of Thunder Bay as our first peer review city. There is nothing like having other regulators endorse your ideas and confirm your approach. That is what IATR can uniquely offer."

Matt leads Windels Marx's Transportation group, which will contribute to the process "by providing pro bono legal and consulting services to both the IATR and Thunder Bay on this peer review."

Matt, the former Chairman of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, counsels clients on a broad range of matters including regulatory compliance, strategic planning, procurement, litigation, administrative law and public policy. He continues to be among a select number of globally-sought thought leaders in the changing landscape of transportation law and taxi and livery developments.
