Experience

Keshav Poddar’s practice focuses on the financial, legal, and policy elements of economic development, including transactions related to redevelopment, real estate, infrastructure development, banking, and public finance.

Before entering private practice, Keshav held various positions in state and federal government. Most recently, he served as an advisor on economic policy at the White House, including roles advising on international economics at the National Security Council (2022-2023), and on domestic economics for Vice President Kamala Harris (2021-2022).

Prior to joining the Biden-Harris Administration, Keshav served as Counsel to former New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal. There, he worked on New Jersey’s COVID-19 response, as well as consumer protection, criminal justice reform, and opioids enforcement. He also previously served as a policy advisor to former Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo.

Keshav is a graduate of Yale Law School, where he was the President of the South Asian Law Students Association, and also holds a B.A. in Government from Dartmouth College. He is a New Jersey native and lives in Jersey City.

Representative Matters

  • Represented the lender in a $62,035,989 construction loan to The Hudson Companies and Housing Works for The Lirio, a multi-purpose project in Hells Kitchen, NY, consisting of 112 affordable and supportive housing units, 7,200 sf of retail space, and 44,000 sf of commercial office space with 30,000 sf for use by the New York MTA.
