SCOPE OF SERVICE
We pride ourselves on our ability to offer sophisticated legal services that are on par with much larger firms, while simultaneously offering the kind of focus expected of smaller, boutique firms. Our skill and experience mean that we are equally at ease handling multi-million dollar corporate acquisitions and the latest e-commerce ventures.
Under the guidance of our Executive Committee and administration, we operate efficiently and effectively in both the domestic and international arenas. Our lawyers work closely with business executives, government officials, in-house counsel, public interest groups, and other participants in the legal process to accomplish our clients' objectives. The representation we provide covers the full spectrum of our clients' legal needs within their financial expectations. We are committed to providing high quality work and exceptional responsiveness to clients in an environment that is increasingly budget-sensitive.
We offer significant capabilities in commercial law, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, as well as in securities, insurance, environmental, intellectual property (including Hatch-Waxman Act and trademark), and bankruptcy law. A sophisticated banking and financial institutions practice includes proficiency in transactional lending, debt restructuring, and public finance including structuring financing transactions for hospitals, healthcare systems, and physician groups in connection with loans and tax-exempt financings for major construction and renovation projects, mergers, acquisitions, refinancings, and restructurings. We represent more than 100 financial institutions in connection with loan origination, syndication, trading and workout activities. Our international practice encompasses large foreign corporations and individuals with business interests in the United States and beyond.
Our full-service litigation department is experienced at resolving corporate and commercial, banking, fraud, employment and discrimination, and insurance disputes, as well as white collar crime defense. And the Firm's active bankruptcy and creditors' rights practice has experience in bankruptcy litigation, resolution of complex creditor-debtor disputes, and as bankruptcy trustees. Within our mortgage and tax lien foreclosure practice attorneys have extensive experience representing servicing agents for a series of trusts annually purchasing tax liens in bulk from New York City, and tax lien servicers and investors. We have represented a variety of lenders, financial institutions, servicers, individuals and title companies in foreclosures, real estate, and title based proceedings and transactions.
Our sophisticated real estate department has significant experience in every phase of real estate investment, development, financing, leasing, workouts and related areas. Our health law attorneys handle legal and regulatory matters unique to the healthcare industry, representing hospitals and other healthcare providers in connection with state and federal tax matters, licensing, certificates of need, affiliation arrangements, managed care contracting, corporate compliance plans, governmental regulation and investigations, employment agreements, vendor contracting, and clinical trial agreements. Other practice areas include corporate and individual tax, trusts and estates, governmental relations, administrative agency practice, and municipal and public finance.
While we enjoy a strong regional presence, along with our historically national client base and a long-standing international practice, we have also resisted the trend to merge into mega-law firms and at the risk of our corporate culture. To best serve the cross-border interests of our clients, as well as their special localized needs within our borders, we maintain strategic alliances with well respected law firms and professional networks throughout the United States and around the world.
